Job Description This skilled electrical technician position includes responsibilities for planning, designing, and connecting electrical generator systems to new and existing electrical systems. Duties include:
Installation, repairs, and diagnostics of residential and commercial electrical systems and equipment in accordance with national and local codes
Inspection of electrical systems in commercial establishments, industrial buildings, and residences
Performing routine checks, testing safety devices and controls, identifying potential issues, replacing or repairing parts, and recording details of repairs
Technicians in this role will also respond to service and emergency calls to diagnose, correct, or repair issues that may prevent generators from operating properly.
This is a skilled position reporting directly to the Installation Supervisor or Electrical Manager, while working closely with Installation Coordinators.
Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver excellence and quality in all equipment installations with APS
Represent the company professionally and inform customers of the electrical work process, planned schedule, and time onsite
Complete all in-home and commercial installations and repairs
Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers regarding generator system installations, maintenance, and repairs
Understand service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding customer expectations and productivity goals
Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck
Participate actively in training exercises, meetings, trade shows, and retreats
Train and mentor apprentices to ensure accurate and efficient repairs and installations
Submit invoices, timecards, curbside feedback, and data sheets accurately and on time

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
A qualified candidate will have experience in and knowledge of:
Reading blueprints, riser diagrams, isometric diagrams, boundary surveys, topographical surveys, and elevation certificates
Applying local codes in on-the-job scenarios
Electrical systems, components, codes, and regulations
Working in confined spaces and at heights
Electrical connections and home improvement settings
Professional organization and customer service
Multitasking and coordinating multiple activities to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion

Minimum of 2 years experience in residential and commercial electrical work
Compensation: $50,000-$100,000/annually
